Twice I have started day hikes, from this same spot, to the to the summit of Half Dome. Both times, just like every time I enter a national park, I am grateful to these men and this country that many of the most beautiful places in this country, and the world, are not owned by individuals but shared so all and enjoy the breathtaking beauty this world has to offer.
